Russian PM appoints Rostelecom as only broadcaster of online voting
MOSCOW, Aug 25 (PRIME) -- Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has granted state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom an exclusive right to provide access to a data transfer network and online broadcasting of voting, according to an official document released Thursday.
Rostelecom will also gather and keep records of broadcasts purchased by state entities in 2016, the document read.
Medvedev called on regional heads to assist the operator in installation and adjustment of required equipment at polling stations.
